Sexual predator removed from area
Those living on San Carlos Island can breathe easier since a fortmyersbeachtalk.com breaking news report last week on a sexual predator move has proven to be incorrect.
After posting an email message submitted by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office entitled, “Sexual predator moves to the Beach,” it has been learned that the address given was a storage unit on Buttonwood Drive. Apparently, the involved predator was alleged to be sleeping somewhere in the storage units at some point, but it is reported that he has not been seen since and his address has changed.
“Just so the public is aware, he is gone and not in the area anymore,” said Shirley Semmer.
The police report stated that Richard Carter had moved to 890 Buttonwood Drive, with a previous address listing at 16800 Carmen Avenue in Fort Myers.
Carter was convicted in February 1999 of Sexual Battery. The victim was a minor.
