Rib cook-off event needs participants
There are still a few openings for teams wanting to participate in a rib-cook-off competition.
On Saturday, Sept. 11, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Communications Division will host the “Bikers, Blues and BBQ” fundraiser at Harley Davidson at 2160 Colonial Boulevard in Fort Myers. This event is a fundraiser for the Communications Training Fund of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
The fundraiser will consist of three events:
– The day will begin with the second annual 911 Appreciation Ride. Registration will be from 8 to 9 a.m. Cost will be $10 per participant. Participants should return to Fort Myers Harley Davidson between 11:30 a.m. to noon in time for the second event.
– The second event will be the Heroes Tribute. This event will pay tribute to the heroes of 9/11 and is scheduled for noon to 1 p.m. This event will also honor our local heroes of public safety and the military. Nashville recording artist Ronnie Morgan will sing the Star Spangled Banner.
The final event will be the Rib Cook-Off Competition. This event is open to the public. Ten teams will compete to see who has the best tasting ribs in Lee County!There are still a few spots available for the rib cook off competition Interested parties can register a team for $25.
