What’s Happening at Chapel by the Sea

1 min read

Chapel by the Sea was the first church on our island and remains a church for the community, welcoming all people seeking to know and serve Christ. We are a mission for Jesus Christ and a church for all seasons-seasons of life-seasons of the year-seasons of our growth as Christians.

We welcome Pastor Maynard back from his trip to the Presbyterian General Assembly combined with a hopefully relaxing vacation. The Rev. Dr. Maynard Pittendreigh is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA). He is a gentle man with a quiet sense of humor. He has been a pioneer and leader in a movement toward multi-cultural/racial congregations and in developing early internet based ministries.

Rev. Pittendreigh is available for theological discussions, quiet reflections and knee-slapping good times. Just call him at the Chapel 463-3173 (ext.14). His sermons are available on-line at www.chapelbts.org/sermonswww.chapelbts.org/sermons.

You are invited to visit Chapel on Sunday mornings for worship at 10 a.m. Pre-K through grade 5 are dismissed to KidZ worship during the service. Hope to see you there!

Chapel by the Sea was the first church on our island and remains a church for the community. We welcome all people seeking to know and serve Christ.

On Sunday, July 18, immediately following 10 a.m. worship, there will be a brief service for Wholeness which includes prayer and intercessions for healing.

Physical, psychological, mental, spiritual and relational problems all need to be healed in order to find wholeness and fully respond to God’s love for us. If you don’t need special prayer, we invite you to stay and pray for others.

God’s Table always needs help, especially during the summer; if you would like to volunteer your time or make a donation please contact the church office. Regarding recycling- There is a large Dumpster in the back of the Chapel parking lot where you can bring your newspapers, junk mail, scrap paper, envelopes (without the plastic window) for recycling. Please-no plastic, phone books, or cardboard. You may also bring your used Inkjet Printer Cartridges to Chapel and place them in the designated box in Silver Hall and we will send them in for recycling.

We invite you to worship and fellowship with us. For more information about Chapel by the Sea please call our office at 463-3173 or visit our website at www.Chapelbts.org.

We are a mission for Jesus Christ and a church for all seasons (seasons of life; seasons of the year; seasons of our growth as Christians).
