Lee County Domestic Animal Services offers 2-for-1 special
It’s Raining Cats and Dogs at Lee County Domestic Animal Services! Throughout July, anyone adopting a pet may adopt a second pet free.
Kitten season is in full force plus an increase in the number of dogs and cats entering shelters due to difficult economic times has pushed the shelter’s capacity to the limit. LCDAS is offering this July special to remind potential pet owners that many wonderful pets awaiting homes at the shelter would make a terrific addition to their family.
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, county license if three months or older, 10-day pet health guarantee, microchip ID, feline leukemia and aids test for cats, heartworm test for dogs more than six months, flea treatment, worming, training DVD, and bag of Science Diet pet food. The veterinary and other services are a $500 value.
LCDAS takes in approximately 700 new pets each month. In addition to monthly adoption promotions, a number of programs and services are utilized to reduce pet overpopulation and ultimately the number of animals entering the shelter.Among these programs and services are low-cost spay/neuter and Community Pet Pantry for owners receiving public assistance, Trap-Neuter-Return to sterilize feral/community cats, Foster Care, and Pet Placement Partnerships.
