1 min read

The Tobacco-Free Lee Coalition are still giving away free baseball tickets to the Fort Myers Miracle and Saint Lucie Mets game at Hammond Stadium on Friday, May 7, at 7:05 p.m. The free tickets, which are made available to all youth and their accompanying adults, can be picked up on Thursday and Friday at the Lee County Health Department at 3920 Michigan Avenue in Fort Myers from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The giveaway is intended to bring awareness concerning the dangers of youth using candy-flavored tobacco products.

The Tobacco-Free Lee Coalition is sponsoring this event because more than 5.7 percent of Lee County middle-schoolers and 18.4 percent of high-schoolers have been reported smoking within the last 30 days. The statewide average rates were 5 percent and 14.5 percent, respectively.

The first 750 fans will receive a custom designed stadium seat cushion and the evening will include games, prizes, entertainment and information about the dangers of youth using tobacco products.
