Mack honored by U.S. Chamber of Commerce with “Spirit of Enterprise” award

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce honored Congressman Connie Mack (FL-14) with its annual “Spirit of Enterprise” Award recently for his opposition to Big Government legislation such as the health care reform plan.

Mack said:

“I’m honored to be recognized by the U.S. Chamber for standing against more taxing, more spending, and more government.

“For the past year and a half, this Administration has pushed one Big Government initiative after another. We cannot grow our economy unless we keep taxes low, spending in check, and needless government intrusion out of our private lives. I’ll keep fighting for policies that will keep Southwest Florida and our nation’s economy strong and competitive.”

The Chamber based its rankings on 15 key House votes in 2009, including votes against a government takeover of health care, a federal budget chock-full of taxes on individuals and businesses, and a government expansion into our nation’s financial regulatory system. Mack has compiled an 83 percent cumulative rating with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce during his time in Congress.
