FM Squadron offers free event
The Fort Myers Power Squadron is reaching out to the public by helping provide a free safety and instructional day to help more people stay safe and enjoy boating.
With Safe Boating Week being May 22 through May 28, the City of Fort Myers Yatch Basin, the Fort Myers Power Squadron , Fort Myers Police Department, and the Fort Myers Fire Department have combined to present hands on training on Saturday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the City of Fort Myers Yatch Basin. This event is free and open to the public.
The program will consist of:
– Fire Extinguisher training by the Fort Myers Fire Department.
– Fort Myers Power Squadron will present the following:
a. Free vessel safety checks.
b. On hands training on the use of emergency flares
c. On hands training on the use of air borne signals
d. Proper use of Life Jackets. In water demonstration etc.
– The Fort Myers Yatch Basin will bring you up to-date on rules and regulations on the use of the facilities.
