Former Fort Myers Beach Chamber President D.J. “Petro” Petruccelli passed away on Friday, May 14th.

Petruccelli came to the Beach in 1985 and served the community as an executive of the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce for 22 years. He retired as chamber president on May 29, 2008, his eightieth birthday, but continued on the chamber board of directors as executive director until his death.

Petruccelli started his over 50-year career as a Chamber executive in Bettendorf, Iowa in 1955. He was born on May 29, 1928 in Davenport, Iowa.
