2 min read

The Fort Myers Power Squadron has definitely got things in high gear. The Squad will be conducting public boating classes starting Tuesday, May 4, and will continue for five consecutive weeks from 6 to 8 p.m. Aftewards, NASBLA certificates and wallet cards will be issued.

Some of the topics covered will be State Boating Laws, Aids to Navigation, Boat Handling and Emergencies at Sea. Refreshments will be provided. Please call 1/LT Grant Esser, AP for further information at 945-6612. There will be a Rendezvous at Snook Bight Marina on April 12, 13 14. There are people coming by boat and car. Fun will be had by all. If interested in joining us please call.

There is also some planning and charting being done on a combined four squad cruise from Fort Myers down to the middle Florida Keys, up to Biscayne Bay, on to Stuart and then the Intercoastal Waterway to Lake O and then the Caloosahatchie back to Fort Myers. This is a trip of about 500 miles, traveling about 100 miles per day. It allows extra time for weather and extended stays for fun and relaxation at different Ports of Call. Tentative dates are Oct 15 through Oct. 30.

Please contact CDR Robert Heck, SN. for further information at 995-0292.
