Shell Point hosts violinist and pianist

The next performance in the 2009/2010 Season of Praise Concert Series at The Village Church at Shell Point Retirement Community is David Kim, Principle Violinist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, with Ron Matthew, Pianist announced Randy Woods, minister of worship and music for The Village Church. This concert will take place on Sunday, March 21, at 6:15 p.m. in the Village Church Auditorium on The Island at Shell Point.

Born in Carbondale, Illinois in 1963, David Kim started playing the violin at age three and later received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from The Juilliard School. In 1986 he was the only American violinist to win a prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. He will be accompanied by acclaimed pianist, Dr. Ron Matthews, Chairman of the Music Department at Eastern University. Their concert will include Massenet’s “Meditation from THAIS,” Brahms’ “Sonatensatz,” and selections from his latest recording, “The Lord Is My Shepherd.”
