Island’s End wins Town/Chamber beautification award
Congratulations to Island’s End Condominium complex on the Town/Chamber Alliance Beautification award for March for “commercial” property. They are located at 8400, 8402 and 8405 Boulevard (3 buildings: 2 adjacent to each other and one across the street). The first building was built in 1983; the other two in 1988 for a total of 111 units.
Board members include Dave Bromfield, Ken Craig and Richard Longcar. Nadine Stoddart, Diane Thomas and Jo Smucker are three dedicated resident volunteers who can be found doing some pruning, weed pulling and maybe some new spring plantings in between landscaper visits.
The residents enjoy the vast beach area with dunes and palms and the beautifully landscaped area surrounding the buildings which was recently done by Ben Kurtz of Kyburz Landscaping last November.
Island’s End has notably volunteered the task of maintaining the garden area across the street at the Town’s “Welcome to Fort Myers Beach” sign. They also have generously installed a solar light at the sign, making it visible to visitors approaching the island from the south.
The Town/Chamber appreciates your attention to this and all the pulling together of your residents in continuing to keep Fort Myers Beach a unique island environment. Again, congratulations!
