Cruiser’s Appreciation Day is Saturday
The Town of Fort Myers Beach will again celebrate Cruiser’s Appreciation Day and the success of its 70 mooring ball anchorage from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 27. The anchorage is located on the Gulf of Mexico, near the western intersection of the Great Loop Route, Intracoastal Waterway and the Caloosahatchee River. It has been providing a wonderful sub-tropical destination for waterway cruisers, including easy access to one of the world’s finest beaches. Cruiser’s Appreciation Day will have food and beverages, live entertainment, and a raffle with items donated by local businesses. The celebration will again be located in the parking lot of Matanzas Inn under the Matanzas Pass Bridge.
For boaters attending Cruiser’s Appreciation Day without overnighting in the mooring field, feel free to use the day dock at Bowditch Point Regional Park, and ride the trolley to the event.
“The mooring field owes increased success to the new floating dinghy dock, a new pump-out boat, and Matanzas Inn as the upland service provider,” said Anchorage Advisory Committee chair Katherine Light. “We invite everyone, boaters and non-boaters, to come by and help us celebrate the day.”
