Beach Babes Donate to Beach Elementary
Five members of the Beach Babes, a group of women who live at Leonardo Arms and like to support the local community, presented Beach Elementary with a check for $575 after taking a tour of the school and enjoying lunch with the kindergartners and first graders.
The donation will be used to purchase computer software and site licenses for programs that will be used by the students. One such program allows the students to compete in real time against children all over the world on math problems. Another requires them to type their essays on a computer, and then shows them how to improve the quality of their work.
“We wanted to purchase the site licenses again for next year, and our friends, the Beach Babes, decided that they wanted to help us towards our goal,” said Beach Elementary Principal Larry Wood.
