Florida Arbor Day was a success on Fort Myers Beach
A total of 101 trees were disseminated by the Town of Fort Myers Beach/Estero Island Garden Club’s combined efforts at the Mound House on Florida Arbor Day on Jan. 15. The trees sold included one Mahogany, 51 Christmas Palms, 39 Cocoplums and 10 Silver Buttonwood.
All Native Garden Center was the supplier of the trees and the Estero Garden Club members were on hand to help distribute them to the residents. As always, the Town pays half the cost and the resident pays the other half. Keep an eye on The Beach Observer in mid-March for the upcoming National Arbor Day (which will be celebrated Friday, April 30th) tree sale which starts March 15 and goes through April 16.
The Town wishes to thank the Fort Myers Beach residents for their tree orders and for planting trees unique to our Island environment.
