The Southwest Florida Community Foundation has extended its scholarship application deadline from Jan. 29, to Feb. 12, (by 4:00 p.m.) to allow extra time for students to obtain their school transcripts for the fall semester. Scholarship information and applications are available online at www.floridacommunity.com/scholarships/ .

The Southwest Florida Community Foundation established its first scholarship fund in 1980 and now administers 58 individual scholarship funds with more than 100 scholarships eligible to be awarded. Scholarship eligibility requirements vary according to the specific wishes of each scholarship fund’s donor, so students should look at each scholarship for information regarding eligibility requirements, dollar amount, and length of time of support.

The Southwest Florida Community Foundation has been supporting the communities of Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Glades and Hendry counties through endowed funds for over 33 years. With over 323 endowed funds, the Community Foundation has provided more than $44 million in grants and scholarships to the communities it serves.
