Commissioner to tour biofuels plant
Commissioner Ray Judah will receive a tour of the Florida Biofuels Plant on Thursday, Jan. 14, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The plant recently received stimulus dollars to help complete construction in developing biofuels and bring them to market.
Florida Biofuels Plant Owner Roy Benton will demonstate how his equipment is used to turn vegetable oil into biodiesel fuel.
As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, Lee County received $3,046,600 in federal stimulus dollars from the U.S. Department of Energy. This tour will provide an opportunity to see how some of that
money will be used locally to develop biofuels and bring them to market.
The Florida Biofuels Plant is on 2744 Edison Ave (Unit 8) in Fort Myers.
