Ostego Bay offers commercial fleet tour
Commercial Fishing Fleet Tour on San Carlos Island is being offered by Ostego Bay Foundation Marine Science Center.
This 3-hour guided tour, which is held every Wednesday morning, includes a 1 1/2-hour tour of the Marine Science Center and a 1 1/2-hour guided tour of over the $100 million commercial fishing industry which includes Erickson & Jensen Supply House, Trico Shrimp Company and Beach Seafood.
Experience firsthand how the boats are unloaded, the trawl doors are built, the shrimp nets are hand-sewn, the seafood is processed and other important factors used in the unique industry.
The cost? A donation of $15 per adult, $10 for children and free for under age 5.
