Live Art Bay Walk Christmas this weekend
The 2009 Live Art Bay Walk Christmas on the Bay Festival will showcase more than 200 performers in theater, dance, music and art on three stages spread throughout three street blocks of Old San Carlos Boulevard Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Included in the festivities will be pictures with Santa, craft tables benefitting the Boys and Girls Club of Lee County, bounce houses, pony rides, games and a performance/art/dance camp for the kids.
Be sure to catch live acts from such local and regional faves as DVS, Uptown Girls, Travelin’ Blues, Houston Scott, Cat 5 Blues, Tampa Blue, Houston 5, Bud Buckley, Dig Baddy, Steve Arvey, Pat Hunter and Brandon Ant.
On Saturday, festivities will end with the 23rd annual Christmas Boat Parade, hosted by the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce.
Food and drink specials will be available within the event perimeters by Bay Walk hosts, including the Yucatan Beach Stand, Smokin’ Oyster Brewery, Snug Harbor and Matanzas Inn Restaurant.
The guest emcee on the band stage will be none other than our very live and local Stet Howland, and George Kay will emcee the dance stage.
Space is still available for artists, vendors, volunteers and sponsors. The event is sponsored by the Bay Walk Group of Merchants, Breeze Newspapers, Tech Tronics, Presstige Printing and Hwy Technologies.
