Many framed and unframed pieces of art are available at the Art Divine Holiday Sale through Jan. 21.

If you’re looking for a Christmas gift or you’re redecorating and in need of a wall hanging, check out the Art Divine Holiday Sale at the Fort Myers Beach Art Association gallery until Jan. 21. That’s when you’ll notice the annual Art Divine Holiday Sale going on.

Members of the FMBAA, a nonprofit organization, will be selling their original art for sale at $99 and under. Choose from a variety of pieces both framed and unframed at exceptional prices.

“Art Divine is a show we put on by our artists in order for them to sell their work,” said Bea Pappas, chairwoman of the event. “It’s open to the public, and the art is at a good price. It’s an opportunity to give the public some real, original work for a very low price.”

Some of the show’s work could sell for hundreds of dollars at other galleries, according to Pappas. The all-paintings sale features oils, acrylics and water colors. But why call it Art Divine?

“The name Art Divine rhymes with under $99,” said Pappas. “We have 195 artists in the association. This is our fourth year of the sale.”

Indirectly tied to Art Divine is the second annual “Mini Master” sale of original matted art for only $10. According to Pappas, the FMBAA members had to donate two of these small works in order to be in the Art Divine show. Profits from the minis help to fund the many projects of the art association throughout the year.

“We sold 32 mini masters at our pot luck last night,” Pappas said about Thursday’s gathering. “This money goes to our operation fund.”

The gallery is located behind Fire Station #31 on Donora Street, one mile south of the Matanzas Bridge. Opening hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.

FMBAA’s purpose is to further and provide education in the cultural aspects of life on the Beach and its environment; to promote the study, practice and appreciation of art; to hold art exhibitions and programs which are open to the public; and to encourage art instruction of children and junior artists.

“The walls will be changing everyday,” said Pappas, who mentioned when something sells, another painting goes up. “Come and come often.”

For more information on any FMBAA activity see the Web site at www.fortmyersbeachart.com or call the gallery at 239-463-3909. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
