2 min read

Members of the Beach Unit of United Methodist Women will gather in the church’s Fellowship Hall on Thursday, Dec. 3. All persons interested in the mission emphasis of the organization are invited to share in the joys of the season. This invitation includes men who are members or friends of the church. Registration and fellowship hosted by Rose Black, Sallie Seabury and Linda Swank will begin at 10 a.m.

All those attending are invited to bring either unwrapped toys or articles of new children’s clothing which will help local organizations to provide Christmas cheer.

At 10:30 a.m., the meeting will be called to order. Following a meditation arranged by Julie Wenger, a musical treat will be provided by Rani Ward and a tone chimes ensemble from Shell Point Retirement Community.

Several members of the unit will be presented with special awards, and all members will receive recognition for studies conducted during the past year.

Pastor Jeanne Davis will conduct the installation ceremony for newly elected officers who will begin their terms of service on Jan. 1, 2010. All members will have an opportunity to sign up to attend Leadership Training to be held Jan. 16, at First United Methodist Church in Fort Myers.

Following the program, food and fellowship will be enjoyed by all. Ham and rolls will be provided by a committee. All other women are invited to bring a salad or favorite dish to share.

Reservations are not essential, but an approximate count of those planning to attend would be helpful. To assure adequate preparations for Dec. 3, those who plan to come are asked either to sign the proper list on a clipboard in the church’s office lobby or phone the church office at 463-9656 or the program chairman at 437-9790 before November 30.
