Coldwell Banker presents Beach Elementary/Bay Oaks with checks
Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate Inc. recently presented checks to two important community organizations on Fort Myers Beach. The Beach Real Estate company donated a check for $1,400 to Beach Elementary School’s Parent Teacher Organization and a check for $1,600 filtered through the Beach Kiwanis to Bay Oaks Recreational Campus’ Teen Program.
Managing Broker Gary Anderson, Realtor Mary Jo Bowers and Cares Foundation Representative Gloria Hall presented the checks to Beach Elementary Principal Larry Wood and Bay Oaks Teen Program specialist Sarah Mayher on Monday, Dec. 14, at the Coldwell Banker Beach branch office.
“We really appreciate Coldwell Banker,” said Wood. “They’ve been a good friend of the Beach for quite a few years. They continue to support us and our programs. They also ask us for ways that they may be more involved in our school, not just in donating money but actual man hours like working the Santini Marina parking lot during sand sculpting weekend. It’s not just the monetary donations but the donations of their time.”
Mayher says the donated money for Bay Oaks will go to the Beach’s fragile teen program.
“We’re trying to get the teen program re-started,” said Mayher. “It used to be a lot bigger years ago. This (check) will definitely get a kick start to the teen program to where it used to be and needs to be.”
Coldwell Banker has supported Bay Oak’s youth basketball program in the past.
“We feel this is a desirable amount of money to give away,” said Anderson. “Instead of giving away $200 here and $200 there, we’ve put up what we think is a little more sizeable donation.”
