Pick Up Pickleball Thursdays at Bay Oaks

Do you love playing pickleball? Or maybe you have always wanted to try or learn what pickleball is? If so join us at 10 a.m. every Thursday for Pickup Pickleball Thursday. Pickleballers of all skill levels are welcome to come out in play. Courts are set up inside in the air-conditioned gym so weather is never an issue.

Equipment is not necessary; we have everything you need to play. Just come out and have fun! See you at the BORC! For more information call (239) 765-4222.

Bay Oaks Softball League now forming

Bay Oaks Recreation Campus would like to announce that a softball league will be starting up shortly. Players and teams of all skill levels are needed for Sunday evening league. Players can signup as an individual and be placed on a house team, or can sign up as a team. League fees are $450 a team or $40 a player, which includes umpire fees, league fees, and uniform shirts. Game times are 6, 7:15 and 8:30 p.m. League begins Jan. 9, and runs through March 20. Teams may find sponsors if needed. Register yourself or your team ASAP because registration ends Dec. 18. Bay Oaks holds aerobics clases

Aerobics classes have begun at Bay Oaks. Instructor Sandy Spitzer will lead participants in exercises which will benefit the cardiovascular system as well as improve muscle tone. Use of steps is optional and the steps are provided. Also provided are mats and weights.

Cost of the program is $41 for one month; $25 for two weeks; $20 for one

week; and $8 for one class. The classes will be held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Have fun, make new

Holiday Dinner Dance comes to BORC

Need a special romantic date night with your significant other? Or maybe you wanna go out with a bunch of friends and dance the night away? If so, Bay Oaks Recreation Campus would like to invite you to its first ever Holiday Dinner Dance for adults ages 18 and up on Friday, Dec. 11. The evening will start with a gourmet spaghetti dinner served with salad and garlic bread. When dinner is finished, put on your dancing shoes and prepare to swing, dip and twirl the night away.

Doors at the Bay Oaks Recreational Building will open at 5:30, with dinner being served at 6, and dancing will go from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Order your tickets today! Tickets cost $12 a person or $20 a couple if ordered ahead of time. At the door, the admission will be $15 a person or $25 a couple.

Bay Oaks holds free baseball clinic

Bay Oaks will host a free baseball clinic on Dec. 12, from 10 a.m. to noon for ages 8-15. The clinic will teach basic fundamental mechanics with hitting, throwing, and defensive skills. The clinic will be instructed by Bay Oaks very own Randy Norton and Coach Ed Frazier.

Coach Norton is currently the pitching coach at Bishop Verot High School, and has been a varsity head coach in Michigan for six years prior to moving to Fort Myers. Coach Frazier is on the board of directors for FMB Little League, a senior girls softball coach and is a certified athletic trainer with American Sports and Fitness Association. Fun Days at Bay Oaks during winter break

Bay Oaks Recreation Campus will be hosting fun days on Dec. 21-24 and Dec. 2831. Fundays are days the children don’t have school yet most parents still have to work. Fundays are for children 613 years of age. The children will do fun yet structured activities from 7:30 a.m. to 6 pm. The cost for the entire day is $13 per child. Please pack a lunch for your child, one will not be provided. Pre-registration is required, you can register your child by calling Bay Oaks at 765-4222.
