Pool truck spill creates traffic jam
This view of the traffic jam caused by a chemical spill near Siesta Isles is at the traffic light crosswalk intersection at Capt. Tony Fishing Adventures.
An apparent accident involving a swimming pool supplies truck at roughly 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, has dumped chemicals onto San Carlos Boulevard by Siesta Isles and has created quite a traffic jam for those leaving Fort Myers Beach. Reports say even the sidewalk has been cut off to to the spill.
For those trying to leave the Beach, you may want to reconsider unless you have an emergency. Traffic has barely budged during the course of an hour, especially now that reports have said that fire trucks have cut off the area to clean the spill.
There is no report on when the traffic situation will be cleared.
