LCDAS promotes new adoption option

1 min read

Lee County Domestic Animal Services continually seeks new adoption options to place as many pets as possible into permanent homes. The “Barn Buddy” Program is one of these options and LCDAS is asking residents to consider being part of the program.

The “Barn Buddy” Program was established to provide alternatives other than euthanasia for feral and semi-feral cats and dogs that cannot acclimate to an indoor environment but could live comfortably in an outdoor environment in a barn, farm or on rural property.

Anyone interested in adopting an animal to live in this type of outdoor setting needs to complete an adoption application. Once their application is approved, potential adopters will be contacted when an animal becomes available that could be a good match for the “Barn Buddy” Program.

This program is another life-saving alternative LCDAS has implemented to save the lives of animals that would have otherwise been euthanized due to their inability to acclimate to an indoor environment.
