PHOTO PROVIDED The Scotts added a flower garden to make a poorly landscaped yard a thing of beauty.

The property at 412 Harbor Court is owned by Ed and Gayle Scott. I was so impressed by the landscaping (remembering it from how it was before) that I stopped to talk to Ed and Gayle. To my surprise, Ed went to the FMB Library, got some books, started planting and voila! He said he got some help from their friend, Marsha Gardner, who works at the Library and gave him some cuttings and from his neighbor Ken Lebo, who donated all the stones as edging for his project.

Ed tells me that his flower garden emerged from a badly landscaped lawn area and he turned it into a thing of beauty for all to see who drive by. He says people actually get out of their cars and tell him how nice it looks. We think so, too Ed. Congratulations on making a “not so appealing” area into a welcome site for all to see and enjoy. PS. Ed also likes to dabble in painting and has taken some classes. Obviously his artistic abilities shine through his work.
