The shelter opens for adoptions at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday and closes at 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday; 6 p.m. Tuesday; and 3 p.m. Saturday. The Shelter is located at 5600 Banner Drive, Fort Myers, next to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, off Six Mile Cypress Pkwy.
All adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, rabies vaccination & county license if three months or older, flea treatment, worming, heartworm test for dogs six months & over, feline aids & leukemia test for cats, training DVD, 10 day health guarantee, and a bag of Science Diet pet food.
The adoption package is valued at $500. During National Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month all dog adoptions are $25 off the regular fee for the month of October.

Comments: I was confiscated for cruelty along with 14 other pets. We were all living in filthy conditions and the air was so bad it was hard to breathe. We were also loaded with ticks. Since being rescued I have been living in a wonderful foster home. I’m all clean, the ticks are all gone and I’ve put on weight. I love to play in the yard with other dogs and sometimes chase a squirrel or two. My foster Mom lets me sleep on a nice warm bed, gives me plenty to eat and takes me on walks. Comments: I was found with my 10 babies and brought to the shelter. We were all very happy that the shelter staff sent us to a nice foster home. My babies are big enough for adoption and have almost all found new homes. I sure would like a new home too. My foster Mom has cared for more than 180 foster kitties over the years and she says I am one of her favorites. She also says I’m very well-mannered and I do not scratch the furniture or screens. I’m very talkative, affectionate, and love to be with someone all the time. I will stay at your feet if I can’t sit with you. If you would like a companion to keep you company I could be just the right kitty for you.
