National Lung Cancer Partnership will host two events

Register today for the first annual Free to Breathe 5K run/walk and one-mile memory walk on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Charlotte Sports Park, 2300 El Jobean Road, Port Charlotte. The event unites people who are passionate about raising public awareness and much needed funding to fight lung cancer. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m.; the 5K run/walk begins at 8:15 a.m.; and the one-mile walk begins at 8:30 a.m.

Awards will be given to men and women by age categories with an award for the top overall female and male. This event will bring together those in the area who are passionate about raising funds and awareness for lung cancer.

Sponsored by National Lung Cancer Partnership, all proceeds help support the Partnership’s vital research, education and awareness programs.

Register online at www.FreeToBreathe.org. The fees include $15 for student registration; $20 for online (closes Oct. 28); $25 for mail-ins (closes Oct. 26); or $30 on the day of the event.
