Local shrine club plans first social
The Fort Myers Beach Shrine Club at 19171 San Carlos Blvd. will hold its first social for the winter season on Oct. 22. The event will be the club’s gala Oktoberfest featuring Ron Gruno with his electronic midi accordion. Gruno, who has played in all parts of the world, will entertain the club with his good old oompah-pah music and modern Bavarian tunes.
The club will be honoring Ted Adams, the potentate of Araba Shriners and Lady Gladys. The entry for the evening will be your choice of a great Bavarian dish consisting of bratwurst and knockwurst, Bavarian potato salad, red cabbage and dessert, or Bavarian white fish.
The club’s happy hour starts at 6 p.m. with dinner being served at 7 p.m. To assure yourself a seat, make reservations early by calling Bob Lee at 694-4476. Cost: $15.
The club hosts bingo every Friday with early bird bingo starting at 6:30 and regular bingo at 7 p.m. with three jackpots of up to $250 each. Everyone is welcome to come to play. Come out and play and enjoy a free donut and coffee during the intermission. Snack bar is open prior to the bingo.
