Local Marine Institute students give back to community
More than 40 students from AMIkids Southwest Florida, formerly known as the Southwest Florida Marine Institute, recently took part in a nationally based “Service from the Heart” program by helping out at various local agencies.
During the week long series of events, students participated by feeding the homeless, distributing goods to an animal shelter, working with the elderly, cleaning up local beaches and distributing a care package for young homeless mothers. Their schedule included volunteering at the following locations: Beach Clean Up, Bunch Beach, Cypress Cove Retirement Center, Our Mother’s Home, Chapel By the Sea and Animal Shelter Lee County,
