Local art judged show opens Nov. 14

ART DIVINE The “Mini Master” matted art sale will again be a part of the Fort Myers Beach Art Association’s upcoming events.

The first judged show of the 2009/2010 season opens on Nov. 14 through Dec. 10, at the Donora Street Gallery of the Fort Myers Beach Art Association. It will be open for viewing during regular gallery hours of 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Carrie Burns Brown, NWS, will be judging the show on Nov. 29 prior to her demonstration of collage techniques at 4 p.m. This demo will be open to the public and costs only $10 to attend. Brown will be conducting a workshop the following week on her watermedia collage techniques. More information on the workshop can be found on the website at www.fortmyersbeachart.com.

On December 12 the fabulous sale of the season “Art Divine” opens at the beach gallery during regular hours. Members will have original art for sale at $99 and under. There will be a variety of pieces both framed and unframed and is a wonderful way to purchase original art for exceptional prices. Once again the members are donating small works for the “Mini Master” sale of matted art for only $10. Profits from the minis help to fund the many projects of the art associaton throughout the year. Sale extends to January 21.
