Immokalee mission party hosted by FMB residence
First Annual Women’s and Children’s Mission Party will be held at the Immokalee Community Park, Saturday, Oct. 10. Registration starts a 9 a.m. with coffee, juice and donuts.
The party is being given by a few residents and part-time residents of Fort Myers Beach. Sheila, Rosa, Rose, Rita, Laura, Jack and Jack Jr. are the hosts of this event.
Laura had recently been on a mission trip for women and children in Central America. Shortly after her return, Laura and her husband Tom came to Fort Myers Beach to do re-modeling work on their home. While at Mass at St. Columkille Roman Catholic Church, the priest mentioned the poor in Immokalee. Laura was scheduled to fly home with her husband on Monday morning but instead dropped him off at the airport and God lead her straight to Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Immokalee. That was the start of her journey of preparing for this party.
The party will be all free with snacks, lunch, gifts, games, prizes. There will also be a surprise early visit from Santa with a new toy and outfit for each child. Also, they will be giving out clothing and food for the Women to take home.
