Homicide Investigation at Dublin Circle yields arrest

On October 2, 2009, the United States Marshal’s Southwest Florida Fugitive Task Force along with deputies and detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office located the subject responsible for the Sept. 30, 2009 homicide at 16220 Dublin Circle, Fort Myers.
Jarquel Tyone Jenkins (DOB 9/18/91) was arrested and charged with one count of Premeditated First Degree Murder, and one count of Attempted Premeditated First Degree Murder.
There were two victims of the shootings: Leslie Michelle Thomas 1/18/73, Fort Myers – deceased; and John Henry Morsman 12/8/53, Fort Myers – still in critical condition.
On Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at approximately 2:56 p.m., deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired at 16220 Dublin Circle, Fort Myers. When deputies arrived on scene two gunshot victims were located. One of the victims had sustained a fatal injury and the other victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Due to the nature of the incident, homicide detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation. Crime scene technicians responded to the scene to collect and document evidence. The District 21 Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the identification and cause of death of the deceased individual.
