Death investigation still under way
On Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at approximately 2:56 p.m., deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired at 16220 Dublin Circle in Fort Myers. When deputies arrived on scene, two gunshot victims were located. One of the victims had sustained a fatal injury, and the other victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Due to the nature of the incident, homicide detectives with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit assumed the investigation. Crime scene technicians responded to the scene to collect and document evidence. The District 21 Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the identification and cause of death of the deceased individual.
No other details are being released at this time. The investigation continues.
