Beach kindergarteners tour Coast Guard Station

BOB PETCHER
Beach Elementary kindergarten teachers Tina Cribbs (left) and Cathy Goodacre-Lee took their classes on a tour of the U.S. Coast Guard Station last week.
The two kindergarten classes from Beach Elementary visited the U.S. Coast
Guard Auxilary Station on San Carlos Island on Friday, Oct. 16.. Their teachers, Mrs. Cathy Goodacre-Lee and Mrs. Tina Cribbs, organized the trip. The children rode the trolley each way. They met many of “the Coasties” and
were allowed to climb aboard three of the ships. The Coasties gave each
child a bag of goodies before they left. Afterwards, they walked to
have lunch at Bonita Bill’s. The meal was sponsored by Bonita Bill’s and
included a hot dog, chips and lemonade. The children learned a lot
about the Coast Guard. We appreciate the support for our school from
our community.
