Public hearings announced for tax districts

1 min read

All four of Fort Myers Beach taxing districts will be conducting public hearings in September regarding budgets and tax rates. The four local taxing authorities -Town government, FMB Fire District, FMB Library and FMB Mosquito Control- are proposing hikes in their tax rates.

If the rates are adopted, FMB residents will be paying higher property taxes to three of the four local taxing districts (FMB Mosquito Control is the exception due to an advertised millage rate of less than the roll back rate.)

Here is a listing of dates and times for the public hearings on tax rates at the four taxing districts:

1. Town government at Town Hall’s Council Chambers:

n Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m.; Monday, Sept. 21 at 6:30 p.m.

2. Fire Department at Fire Station No. 31:
