Mack: A day of remembrance and resolve

1 min read

Congressman Connie Mack (FL-14) issued the following statement today on the eighth anniversary of the September 11th attacks.

Mack said:

“The memories of that fateful morning eight years ago remain vivid. We shall never forget those tragic hours, days, weeks and months when the American spirit was put to the ultimate test.

“But we, as a nation, are courageous and resilient. The dark shadows of terrorism did not, and will not, crush the steadfast determination of the American people.

“Today, we honor those who lost their lives eight years ago. We honor them in our thoughts and prayers, in ceremonies and memorial services. But we also honor them by upholding the ideals of freedom, security and prosperity that continue to make our country strong.

“This day is a day of remembrance. But it is also a day of resolve. We must resolve to impart the significance of this day, and the lessons we have learned as a nation, on to our children and grandchildren.”
