Local church: It’s all in the beat
With clapping and hand-drumming, the program being arranged by Beach United Methodist Women for Thursday, October 1, 2009, will be of interest to all persons, United Methodists or Non-Methodists, women or men, seniors or youth.
Registration and coffee fellowship will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall in the Beach United Methodist Church, the church between the library and the school. No reservations are needed. All interested persons are welcome.
Lisa Grinter, president of the Beach Unit of United Methodist Women, will call the meeting to order at 10 a.m. The United Methodist Women in Song Ensemble will assist in the opening led by Julie Wenger, Mission Coordinator for Spiritual Life. Among the guest presenters will be Windye McNeal, executive director of the Southwest Florida Marine Institute, and a group of her students.
Following the program, there will be a short business session. New Handbooks are ready for distribution. The Nominating Committee comprised of JoAnn Eeten, Shirley Durbin, and Julie Wenger will submit the 2010 slate of officers which be presented for voting at the November meeting.
