Beach Soccer League receives check from Beach Lions

The Fort Myers Beach Lions Club supports kids and the Fort Myers Beach Soccer League. Lion President Patsy Dorsey presented $500 to Jim DeMilia, president of the league, and Rick Loughrey, vice president.
Lions support for local kids extends from the Little League to eyesight medical assistance and glasses, yearly Scholarships, and support for those physically challenged at the Florida Lions Camp.
“The club recognizes soccer as a great participation sport and when local kids play they receive fun but also learn lessons on teamwork, sportsmanship and gain lots of exercise as well as the adventure of participation,” said Dorsey. “We are proud to support this league. Through Club projects like the annual Shrimp Festival, Sand Sculpting parking project, Walkathon, and other fundraisers, the club is able to use its members’ 100 percent unpaid volunteer efforts and generous public participation to help the community throughout the year.”
