Mack applauds Governor Crist’s decision to appoint LeMieux to sentate
Congressman Connie Mack (FL-14) applauded Governor Charlie Crist today for his selection of George LeMieux as the next United States Senator from Florida, replacing Senator Mel Martinez, who announced his resignation earlier this month.
Mack said:
“Governor Crist has made a strong selection with his appointment of George LeMieux to the United States Senate.
“I have known and worked with George for over a decade, and he has a solid record of public service and has worked hard for the people of Florida. As Deputy Attorney General for the State of Florida, he fought for the values that have made Florida a safer and better place to live and work. In addition, his experience as Governor Crist’s former chief of staff will allow him to hit the ground running when he is sworn into office in September.
“George is a solid, main-stream conservative who will fight in Washington for the principles of less taxing, less spending, less government, and more freedom.
“I look forward to working with Senator-elect LeMieux in the coming months ahead.”
