Local radio station teams up with district to “stuff” the bus
For the second year in a row, WINK Radio is teaming up with Lee County Public Schools for a school supply donation event. The goal is to help families who may be in need this school year.
Shoppers can donate school supplies, which will be “stuffed” into a school bus that will be parked in front of the Staples store all day Thursday, Aug. 20. Items needed include: notebooks, pencils, pens, loose-leaf paper, crayons, color markers all of the items students need as they head back to school.
Remember, the 2009/10 school year starts on Monday, Aug. 24 be cautions and careful as students will be making heading to school that morning. Some will be walking, others riding their bicycles and others waiting on the corner for the school bus. Please take a few extra moments and be vigilant our students will be on the road with you starting Monday, Aug. 24.
