Local sailor and CMCS Vice Commodore Steve Romaine (left) will compete in the Marblehead to Halifax (Nova Scotia) Ocean Race, a 360-mile event, with 105 boats, starting July 5, in Marblehead, Mass. The race is held every two years and is one of the major regattas in the country. “I’ve never competed in this race before, but am very excited about going, competing on a 53-foot Beneteau named Relativity, from the St. Pete Yacht Club, the only Florida boat in the fleet,” Steve said. Steve's been sailing his whole life and has been a member of CMCS (local sailing group) for 11 years.
