United Methodist Women

1 min read

All persons can gain increased appreciation for farm workers by attending the meeting of the Beach Unit of United Methodist Women on Thursday, Feb. 5.

Guest speakers at the meeting will be farm worker women from Immokalee in the heart of Florida’s agricultural industry. Since both women and men are concerned with supplying food for our tables, the men of the community are invited to attend. One need not be a United Methodist to participate.

Registration and fellowship hosted by Pat Simon and Julie Wenger will begin at 9:30 a.m. The program will follow at 10 a.m. The United Methodist Women’s program book for the new year is titled “Who’s at the Table?” The studies are planned to help us analyze things as they are and advocate for change where needed.

Since United Methodist Women automatically are members of Church Women

United (CWU), all women are urged to support the scholarship luncheon on

Friday, Feb.6 at Faith United Methodist Church.

Reservations can be made through Feb. 3 by calling Mildred Howarter at 239-437-9790. The luncheon proceeds will go to support women in need of financial aid in order to continue their studies at Edison College or Lee County High Tech Center Central.
