Gulf Coast Trio at St. Peter Lutheran
A special chamber music concert, performed by the acclaimed Gulf Coast Trio, will be presented at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Fort Myers Beach on Monday March 2 at 7:30 p.m. Masterworks by Brahms, Bizet, Schumann, as well as music by the American composers Samuel Barber and William Dawson, Jr., will be performed.
There is no admission charge for the concert. A free will offering will be taken.

The Gulf Coast Trio has presented programs for the past several years across the states of Florida and Texas. Members of the trio include James Rapp, violinist, who is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music in New York and who played in the American Symphony Orchestra under the legendary conductor, Leopold Stokowski. He also was a member of the Minneapolis Symphony and was a participant in the Aspen Music Festival. He recently performed in Guatemala City. Mr. Rapp presently resides in Fort Myers.
Sarah Kapps, a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music in New York, is the cellist in the trio. Her musical career has taken her across North America, Europe and the Middle East. She is a native of Philadelphia and has recently moved to the Rio Grande Valley of Texas to join the faculty of the University of Texas – Pan American. Ms Kapps is co-principal of the Valley Symphony Orchestra.
William Dawson, Jr. studied piano at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia with world renowned concert pianist, Rudolf Serkin. He went on to earn his graduate degree at Yale University, Dawson has performed with major symphonies including the Boston Pops under Arthur Fiedler and has played recitals all over the United States, at festivals in Europe, and throughout Asia and Latin America. His chamber music concerts include performances with Anne Williams, principal cellist with the Pittsburgh Symphony and Daniel Majeske, late concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra. Dawson is professor emeritus at Miami Dade College. He is also a founder of the New World School of the Arts in Miami. The Florida State Music Teachers Association named Dawson Composer of the Year 2007. The South West Florida Symphony Chorus recently performed Dawsons choral works. He is presently adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Brownsville.
