Seed and Bean readies for opening at The Cove at 47th
First-of-its-kind cafe offers up cannabis-infused food and drink
A first-of-its-kind cafe that offers up cannabis-infused food and drink is opening in Cape Coral.
Seed and Bean Market is set to open its third location in Cape Coral at The Cove at 47th, with a tentative opening slated for the first week of December.
Seed and Bean Market was founded in 2018 and is Florida’s first Cannabis Café and CBD marketplace, with other locations in Fort Myers and Venice. It was also the second cannabis café to open in the United States.
Menu items are not infused unless requested.
“With our immediate success and acceptance into Fort Myers and Venice, we knew that our next expansion was into the burgeoning Cape Coral market,” said Cole Peacock, co-founder of Seed and Bean Market and C3 Investments. “Not only is this city one of the fastest-growing in the state of Florida, but we have been impressed with its great leadership from its elected officials. We look forward to bringing over 40 new jobs to the area and quickly becoming a staple of the downtown community.”
Peacock said being in the market for a third location, Seed and Bean was approached by city officials, and has been in the works for a year-and-a-half.
“It’s been a perfect marriage,” he said. “We’re excited to be part of The Cove project and have our store there.”
Seed and Bean Market is putting the finishing touches on the 2,800-square-foot location, which will feature 128 seats indoors and up to 70 more seats for outdoor patio and breezeway bar dining. The new Cape Coral restaurant will be Seed and Bean’s largest, and will feature sit-down dining, its signature bar, and grab-and-go counter. The Seed and Bean Market will be the only dining destination that will feature breakfast, lunch, and dinner at The Cove, and one of the first in the South Cape.
Seed and Bean recently held a job fair, which Peacock said had a great turnout.
“Excitingly a good turnout, especially with how the market is currently,” he said.
Seed and Bean welcomes patrons to savor its all-natural CBD-infused drinks, gourmet treats, and top-tier coffee in an atmosphere where everyone feels at home. With roots in the cannabis industry, high standards bring passion for quality and innovation.
Peacock Seed and Bean focus is “offering a really nice place to hang out and chill, but our food is clean — it’s predominately natural and organic. We don’t use any fryer or grease traps. We have a very clean culinary experience. And you have the option, if you want to, to add CBD and low-THC hemp-derived product into your food or beverage.”
Peacock said Seed and Bean creates a lot of internal recipes, from hemp bites to entrees and more.
“We’ve got really talented chefs in every location,” he said. “We create our own recipes and menu. It’s a very unique experience that’s not offered anywhere in the state of Florida.
“Our family-friendly concept takes the stigma out of the cannabis café perception. We have created an atmosphere where everyone feels at home whether they are ordering delicious food, coffee, hemp protein shake, CBD Seltzer, or a craft beer. Seed and Bean Market is a proven model of success and we are so excited to bring it to Cape Coral.”
Seed and Bean offers a vast menu for every palate and dietary restriction. From appetizers that include crab cakes, avocado fries, and empanadas; to Belgian waffles and French toast for breakfast; to veggie burgers, fish tacos, and Cuban sandwiches; soups and salads; bone-in pork chops, shrimp and grits, steak, pasta salmon and more.
“We pride ourselves on being creative and allowing freedom in the kitchen,” Peacock said “The bulk of our menu items have been created by our chefs and kitchen staff creating something.
“We want any customer to come in and find something they would enjoy on the menu. We tried our best to have a full menu that caters to everyone. We’ve had great success with it, and take recommendations from customers.”
There are CBD mocktails, cannabis beer, seltzers, protein shakes, and one of the more popular menu items Peacock said — coffee.
“We have baristas on-site that can create just about anything,” he said. “We have beers on-tap, and hemp beer as well.”
Seed and Bean is completely state regulated under the Federal Farm Bill. Peacock is considered a pioneer in the Florida cannabis industry and was appointed vice chair of the inaugural Florida Hemp Advisory Committee by then Florida Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services Nikki Fried. Peacock is also co-founder of C3 Investments and its innovative ventures include Seed and Bean Markets, Pure Native Premium Hemp/Cannabis Lifestyle Brand, and Caloosahatchee Beverage Company, which created first federally approved Hemp Beer.
“Everything is legal,” he said. “We have to go through every regulatory step, every license, we constantly have checks on what we are doing. We are one of the leaders in the industry, so we pride ourselves on setting the proper standard.”
Peacock said the atmosphere at Seed and Bean “is the chillest place in Lee County.”
“The atmosphere is very relaxed,” he added. “It’s easy-going. It’s a true cafe-style experience. We don’t rush anybody. We have live music on select nights. We want to get to know all of our patrons and customers.”
Seed and Bean Market’s leadership team’s philosophy is giving back and becoming part of the fabric of the communities it calls home. This includes support and volunteering with organizations like Community Cooperative Soup Kitchen, Venice Walk and Ride, Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce, Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida, Suncoast Humane Society, and Florida Gulf Coast University.
“We want to get involved in Cape Coral like we have in every other city,” Peacock said. “I’ve served on numerous not-for-profit boards.
“We will find those core initiatives and programs that we want to be heavily involved with, and we’ll do that in every city and community we go to.
“Being entwined in the community being part of the thread and fabric of a community. If you’re not supporting your community and just taking, you’re not getting anything in return. You have to give to receive, and we really believe in that. We’re going to stick by that because that’s who we are.”
Collaborating on this project are KDL Interior Design, Chris-Tel Construction, and Zachary Smith with GMA Architects & Planners.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Seed and Bean for a third time on what may be a flagship location for them,” said Howard Wheeler, President with Chris-Tel Construction, in a release. “Having worked with the C3 team over the years, we have come to understand their passion and professionalism not only for this space, but also for the impact they have on the community. Building upon their brand has been a game changer in their industry and we are honored to help make their vision a reality once again.”
Seed and Bean Market was founded in 2018 in Fort Myers after four founding members with industry roots cultivated their passion for great coffee, unique beer and delicious food into a comfortable lifestyle destination. Its locations are downtown Fort Myers at 1520 Broadway and in Venice at 116 W. Venice Avenue.
