Tropical Jewelry, owned by Jasmina and Artur Pirganoski, offers custom jewelry with a local twist.

Since opening two years ago, the jewelry store has offered beachy designs, including palm tree adorned bracelets and rings.

They are currently working on new designs for this season.

“They were inspired by the lifestyle of Fort Myers Beach and embrace and represent specifically the dynamics of this community, which is something I think this location was missing,” Jasmina Pirganoski said.

Jewelry items also can be as unique as you like.

“The pieces I have now are cute, and can be customized from the ground up with just the bands or gemstones of really any variety added,” Pirganoski said.

With 15 years in the jewelry business, beginning with a family-owned store in the Keys and subsequent management positions with two of the biggest names in the business before opening on Fort Myers Beach – a surprise birthday gift from her husband – Pirganoski is acutely aware of design and aesthetic preferences.

“To me, the jewelry is a form of art, personal wearable art, and in that sense not just a fashion statement but a way to express your emotions, your journey in life and desire for beauty,” she said.

She is getting her own casting equipment, which is expensive, but should pay for itself several times over. This equipment will let her physically create the base for a lot of the softer metals, like gold and silver, and even some platinum pieces.

“The issue locally is that there aren’t enough people with the equipment, so for a lot of quick, custom designs, we’re usually contacting out of state business for stock and it can take weeks to get specific pieces back. Being able to do it in-house means I can put my designs to physical reality instantly, and it means I have significantly more options for customization,” Pirganoski said.

“All these years, my biggest pleasure is still dealing with my clients on an everyday basis, listening to what beauty means to them and seeing them as excited about a piece of jewelry as I am,” Pirganoski said, adding she’s “…very happy to be able to fill in that gap of fine eclectic jewelry selection on our island and be part of that boutique feel, a shopping experience that you won’t find in the malls.”

Having just opened her second shop, she’s hoping to give the Beach something to be proud of, and to give our tourists something to take home to show how proud they are of our little town.

“To have a business on Fort Myers Beach was one of my dreams come true,” Pirganoski said. “Before we moved to Forth Myers Beach we checked every city and little town on the West Coast of Florida and up to the Panhandle. We decided Lee County was to be our future home and we specially loved the small tight community feel of Fort Myers Beach.”
