Kava Culture Kava Bar to host wellness fair to promote mental, physical wellbeing

Kava Culture’s wellness fair’s primary focus is on promoting mental and physical wellbeing, as well as fostering a sense of community. The inaugural event will take place on Saturday at 6 p.m., and then will be every third Saturday of the month.
Kava Culture is a place where all are welcome and encouraged to have fun, relax and enjoy life. The Fort Myers Beach Kava Bar is one of five locations throughout Florida, and it is aptly known as the Hippie Hideaway. The main feature of the Hippie Hideaway is its full outdoor Kava Bar complete with hammocks, lounge chairs, a beach-style tanning area, a dock to come by boat, and a gazebo for live music. All of their locations are dog-friendly, inside and out.
Kava root, which is used in a powder form in many of their teas and elixirs, is an herb found in the tropics. It contains compounds known as kavalactones, which may help to keep your mind calm, sharp, and clear. The kava root plays a large role in cultural and religious ceremonies in the pacific because it is believed to allow a person to achieve a “higher level of consciousness.”
“Kava Culture is a company based on building our community whether it be supporting local talent or just supporting the average Joe,” said Colten Harris, the store and sales manager at Kava Culture on Fort Myers Beach. “To me, Kava Culture is more than just a name, it’s a meaning. The word ‘culture’ to me means our journey with the community, and how we can help bring out the best in every individual for the greater cause.”
The Wellness Fair will feature vendors selling local art, crystals, candles, health products and of course, deliciously healthy food from a local food truck. The July 20 event will have live music from local musicians and a fire dancer.
Kava Culture is at 17979 San Carlos Blvd., Fort Myers Beach.
