Parrot Key Caribbean Grill at Salty Sam’s Marina raised $1,837 for the Children’s Advocacy Center of SWFL. This is the result of a month-long promotion to raise awareness about National Child Abuse Prevention month, which was April.

The symbol for National Child Abuse Prevention month is a blue pinwheel, and the color blue in general. Parrot Key Caribbean Grill participated in fundraising by donating 50 percent of sales from their Blue Macaw drink.

“Partnering with local businesses to help raise awareness of abuse and the services that we provide free of charge to child victims and their families is vital to our mission,” said Julie Boudreaux, Children’s Advocacy Center CEO.

“We are always happy to help the Children’s Advocacy Center,” said David Kastan, the marketing manager for Salty Sam’s Marina. “The work they do in our community is essential and sadly, much needed.”

Children’s Advocacy Center provides abuse determination services as well as therapeutic counseling, parent education and prevention programs in Lee, Hendry, Glades and Charlotte Counties. All services are provided free of charge. For more information, call (239)-939-2808 or visit their website at www.cac-swfl.org.
