Island Romance: Celebrating Valentine’s Day on Fort Myers Beach

Looking for the perfect, romantic spot in the area to celebrate the Day of Love? With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, Friday, Feb. 14, now is the time to start making plans. It doesn’t get much more romantic than sunsets, a waterfront view and a stroll down the shore, so swing down to Fort Myers Beach with your special someone for a charming celebration.
The Lani Kai
1400 Estero Blvd., 239-463-3111
The Lani Kai has a huge Valentine’s celebration planned this year. For those looking to tie the knot or renew your vows, be sure to come by the waterfront establishment between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Valentine’s Day for a very special wedding and vow-renewal ceremony.
Walking down the flower-strewn aisle, each side lined with chairs for guests, the bride will meet her groom at the elegant arch to share their vows with an officiate, as a professional photographer captures the blissful moments.
“We went all out this year for our inaugural Valentine’s Day event,” said Danielle Pierce, events and wedding coordinator for the hotel. “The ceremony has a finely decorated arch, chairs, an officiate, professional photographer: everything you need right there to tie the knot.”
All of this, along with a champagne brunch for two, with two breakfast buffets, complimentary champagne and a single long-stemmed red rose, costs $250. Although walk-ins are welcome, it’s better to reserve your spot by calling Danielle at 239-463-3111 or 239-867-8414.
Already married, not ready yet or just want to celebrate at the Lani Kai? The staff is hoping the all-new Sable Palm restaurant upstairs will be fully completed by then, where you can enjoy a champagne brunch, buffet-style, complete with complimentary glass of champagne or mimosa, for $15.95 each.
“It’s our Sweetheart Special, and it’s going to be a fine spread of food,” Danielle said.
Of course, live music will go on throughout the day at the resort, as well as lots of other fun activities for guests of all ages. The resort is also offering a special Valentine’s dinner that evening.
There are still a few rooms available for the night of Feb. 14, as well as a handful the night before, Feb. 13, so call ahead to book a room.
If you’re not ready to tie the knot just yet, Danielle is eager to announce the entirely revamped wedding department at the resort.
“We’ve completely redone the wedding department of the Lani Kai,” she said. “It’s just as inexpensive as it was before, only so much higher quality, as many other high-end island resorts. We’ve created an all-new wedding book, with multiple packages available.”
To plan your wedding at the Lani Kai, call Danielle at 239-463-3111 or 239-867-8414.
