Top Honors: Castaway’s Bar and Grill voted one of the top seven bars in state
Castaway’s Bar and Grill, on the south end of Fort Myers Beach, was recently awarded one of the best bars in the country, as “One of the Top Seven Bars in Florida,” by Bartender Magazine.
“We’re one of the very few bars in Florida with that recognition, and the only one in Southwest Florida,” said Steve Grish, co-owner of the establishment, along with his wife, Megan. “I called the editor of the magazine, wanting to know how they picked us out of all the bars in the state. He said someone emailed or contacted them about us, they sent some people down, checked out eight or 10 other bars on the beach, and ours was picked.”
Steve and Megan are extremely excited about this new recognition, and believe their hospitable staff, quality service and great specials are what topped off those who made the decision.
“Megan and I are ecstatic; really impressed. It’s really cool, and we’re honored for our bar to be awarded with that title,” he said.
