The Sandy Butler closes its doors
In a letter dated April 28, taped to the glass door entrance of the Sandy Butler, 17650 San Carlos Blvd.: “To Our Loyal Guests, We do not have the words to tell you all how much we appreciate your
patronage. If we could tell you each personally how much we have appreciated your business and friendship, we would! But we have chosen to close the doors quietly on a business that we feel has made a positive impact on this community. Keep us in your prayers as our Team finds their way in future journeys. Thank you, The Sandy Butler.”
Guests repeatedly entered the parking lot of the Sandy Butler Market and Shoal’s Restaurant and Wine Bar Monday, confused as to why its doors were locked, and why the business owners decided
to close up shop “out of the blue.”
In the parking lot that afternoon, island residents discussed that “we were just here over the weekend having cocktails, appetizers and shopping in their market. I don’t understand why they’re closed.”
Owners of the business could not be reached prior to press time.
Originally scheduled to open April 2006, The Sandy Butler pushed opening its doors until October 2006. The establishment regularly offered special events, gatherings and cooking classes.
